Job Overview
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting with hands-on experience in the import and export sector. This role requires someone who can:
- Manage financial records with accuracy
- Ensure compliance with regulations
- Provide valuable insights to support business decisions
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations.
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
- Oversee tax returns, VAT, withholding, and other statutory obligations.
- Ensure compliance with local financial laws and international accounting standards.
- Support external audits and prepare necessary documentation.
- Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for business growth.
- Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Coordinate with banks, suppliers, and other stakeholders, especially in import/export transactions.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of collective accounting experience, preferably in import/export business
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations.
- Excellent skills in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
