Job Summary
The Senior Accountant role at OVID Property Management and Title Deed PLC is a full-time position based in Addis Ababa. The role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records and compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and regulations. The Senior Accountant will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and audits while also mentoring junior staff. With 5–8 years of accounting experience, the successful candidate is expected to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the organization’s financial strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and regulations in all financial practices.
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts regularly.
- Prepare annual budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis.
- Assist in preparing tax returns and ensure timely submission.
- Utilize Peachtree software to record, post, and close accounts accurately.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 - 8 Years of accounting experience
Required Skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in Peachtree accounting software.
- Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends.
- Strong report writing and presentation skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial transactions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
