Sr. Accountant – Reporting & Analysis

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead financial reporting and analysis, ensuring compliance with IFRS standards and providing insights through data visualization and profit and loss analysis.

Responsibilities

Role Purpose

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (including IFRS), and providing insights into business performance through:

• Profit and loss analysis
• Data visualization
• Reporting

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Review monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) with respective section leads.
• Organize balance sheet reviews with FC and maintain a tracker of action points.
• Perform analytical review of financial results to identify trends, variances, and anomalies.
• Consolidate and review financial data for accuracy.
• Deliver management summary reports with clear narratives on business performance drivers.
• Support the preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.

Compliance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Apply and monitor accounting treatments under IFRS 16 (Leases).
• Support internal and external audit processes.

Month-End Close & Timetable Monitoring

• Monitor and coordinate the month-end close timetable.
• Track progress of close activities across multiple teams.
• Maintain a month-end calendar.
• Communicate progress and potential bottlenecks to management.

Data & Visualization

• Develop dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
• Drive automation and standardization of reporting processes.
• Translate complex financial data into meaningful visual insights.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve Record-to-Report processes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align financial reporting processes.

Qualifications

• Accounting or related Finance bachelor’s degree from a recognized university; ACCA will be an added advantage
• 5-6 years’ experience in Reporting and Analysis, financial reporting, or accounting roles in a multinational or shared services environment
• Delivers timely and accurate reports to satisfy statutory and business requirements
• Identifies key performance and variances, and provides recommendations
• Expertise and commercial awareness to deliver value-added solutions
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, with demonstrated experience in IFRS 16 lease accounting
• Experience in preparation of annual financial statements under IFRS

Skills Required:

• Accounting / Finance
