Sele Enat Charitable Organization (SECO) is an indigenous, not-for-profit, child-focused, non-governmental organization founded in 2002 in Ethiopia. Committed to uplifting the most vulnerable members of the community, SECO focuses on alleviating the suffering of orphaned vulnerable children through Family Based Care (Family preservation strengthening, Reintegration and reunification, Kinship care Foster care and domestic adoption), Community-based care (Supported independent living) and Residential care. Our approach includes providing essential needs, supporting community-based care and domestic adoption for children, and fostering economic independence for women through skills training and seed funding for income-generating activities. SECO strives to improve the lives of vulnerable community members in Ethiopia, particularly women and children, enabling them to build brighter futures.

Key Responsibilities

The Social Worker will be responsible for case management and field work related to SECO's core programs, including:

  • Conducting psychosocial assessments for vulnerable children and their families.
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized care plans.
  • Actively working on family tracing, reunification, and Family preservation strengthening activities.
  • Develop case stories.
  • Providing supportive counselling and resources to beneficiaries.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential documentation and reporting on case progress.

Salary: Based on the Organization's Scale

Qualifications

  • Educational Qualification: Degree in Social Work.
  • Work Experience: 0 (Zero) years of experience.

Required Skills:

  • Strong passion for and understanding of child welfare and family preservation models.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and empathetic listening skills.
  • Ability to conduct home assessments and manage sensitive case files ethically.
  • Commitment to safeguarding the privacy and dignity of all beneficiaries.
  • Basic computer skill and know-how of the Internet.
