Responsibilities
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Maintenance of end-to-end systems/network and respective capacity reporting and analysis for E2E DWDM network.
- Troubleshoot, analyse and restore faults within the directed MTTR
- Ensure monitoring of all DWDM network elements is achieved.
- Planning and Design review across multiple transmission technologies, including Fiber/DWDM/GPON/OTN, VSAT.
- Facilitate DWDM network testing and acceptance – in coordination with planning and infrastructure teams.
- Coordinate Network Improvement initiatives, in liaison with OEMs and Partners.
- Perform proper preventive maintenance of all transport network elements and document results for all nodes.
- Accountable for Spares deployed on sites
- Periodic feedback on all transmission-related performance reports.
- Maintain an updated network information database
- Ensure compliance to regulator guidelines and facilitate necessary reporting on the same.
- Ensure OH&S adherence during supervised or own work execution.
- Monitor and evaluate design quality of all self-built fiber.
- Maintain fiber network Infrastructure (OSP/ISP).

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Higher National Diploma in Electronics/Telecommunications
- 5 years of experience with 3 years specialized role in a busy telecommunications environment –Involved in Transmission network operations, design, planning, installations /commissioning, and projects especially in DWDM Networks support.
- Working knowledge and experience in various transmission network technologies
- In-depth understanding of the WDM technology
- Knowledge of software-defined networking principles.
- Computer literate – Able to create management reports and use project management tools
