Ethiopian Airlines Group invites qualified applicants for Ethiopian Aviation University for the position of Adjunct Professor of Managerial Finance.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
- Ph.D. in Finance, Aviation Management, Business Administration, or a related field with a focus on managerial finance, earned in residence through a full-time program at an accredited institution.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE
- Practical experience in financial management or analysis within the aviation industry or related sectors.
- Experience collaborating with airlines, airports, or aviation-related organizations on financial analysis or strategic planning projects is desirable.
EXPERTISE IN AVIATION FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
- In-depth knowledge of financial management principles specifically applied to the aviation industry, including cost structures, revenue management, and operational financing.
- Understanding of unique financial challenges faced by airlines and aviation companies, such as fuel price volatility and regulatory impacts.
- Familiarity with capital budgeting techniques tailored for aviation projects, including fleet acquisition, airport development, and infrastructure investments.
- Expertise in evaluating investment opportunities using methods such as net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), and payback period analysis.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial statement analysis, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements specific to aviation entities.
- Knowledge of key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the aviation sector, such as revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) and available seat kilometers (ASK).
- Proficiency in identifying and managing financial risks in aviation, including operational, market, and credit risks.
- Understanding of financial instruments used for hedging against risks, such as fuel hedging and interest rate swaps.
LANGUAGE
Knowledge of the working language English is mandatory.
