Job Purpose
The Senior Account Officer plays a key role in supporting Account Managers in the effective delivery of underwriting, risk assessment, and client advisory services. The position is responsible for managing client portfolios, facilitating underwriting processes, and ensuring high-quality risk evaluation and service delivery within the insurance brokerage framework.
Key Responsibilities
1. Underwriting Support & Coordination
- Assist Account Managers in reviewing and processing insurance proposals, renewals, and endorsements
- Analyze client risk profiles and support underwriting decision-making
- Liaise with insurers to obtain quotations, negotiate terms, and follow up on placements
- Ensure timely policy issuance and documentation accuracy
2. Risk Advisory & Client Servicing
- Support risk assessments and provide recommendations to minimize client exposure
- Participate in client meetings and contribute to risk advisory discussions
- Ensure proper documentation and communication of coverage terms and exclusions
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and insurers
3. Portfolio Management
- Manage assigned client accounts and monitor policy lifecycle (renewals, claims follow-ups, updates)
- Track and report on account performance, including premium and risk trends
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and regulatory requirements
4. Claims & Technical Support
- Provide technical support to clients on policy interpretation and claims procedures
- Coordinate and update with insurers to ensure timely claims resolution
5. Process Improvement & Reporting
- Contribute to improving underwriting workflows and service efficiency
- Prepare periodic reports on underwriting activities, risks, and portfolio status
- Support data accuracy and proper record management
About You
Qualification Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Finance and Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in underwriting within insurance brokerage or insurance companies
- At least 2 years in a Senior Underwriting Officer or equivalent role
- Proven experience in underwriting, client management, and risk advisory
Required Competencies

- Strong understanding of insurance underwriting principles and risk analysis
- Knowledge of insurance products (life and non-life preferred)
- Ability to interpret policy wordings, coverage, and exclusions

Digital & Reporting Skills
