Job Description:
Number of Employees Needed: Six
Major Responsibilities
- Facilitate and undertake integrated project implementation to ensure outputs are reached on time and within budget.
- Mobilize and create awareness on area closure, FMNR, climate change, and its impacts within the community.
- Increase registration of the community in cooperatives.
- Ensure the closed area is protected and all required forest management activities are facilitated timely.
- Encourage voluntary participation in forest management activities among community members.
- Ensure smooth relationships between cooperative members to increase social cohesion.
- Assess potential resources that can be sources of income within the project area.
- Participate in the selection of beneficiary members during training and workshops.
- Monitor the proper use of training and inputs for intended purposes.
- Ensure timely repayment of inputs distributed and loans created by cooperatives.
- Monitor financial transactions and documentation in line with policies.
- Ensure cooperative members abide by their bylaws and agreements.
- Facilitate and participate in different monitoring activities within the project.
- Collect and submit necessary project data in a timely manner.
- Prepare all necessary reports timely and with required quality.
- Attend and provide technical guidance in cooperative meetings.
- Coordinate annual Steering Committee meetings and Technical Working Group forums.
- Lead quarterly regional-based Committee meetings to discuss work plans and progress.
- Promote a collaborative and respectful working culture among Consortium members.
- Engage with cooperatives and government staff in project planning and monitoring.
- Participate in data collection from the field and ensure adherence to protocols.
- Facilitate community and stakeholder participatory assessments.
- Conduct capacity-building training on various topics.
- Work closely with project coordinators in technology assessment and promotion.
- Network with relevant government offices and organizations to expedite project implementation.
Qualification
- Completed TVET school/BSc. Degree in NRM, Forestry, Community Development, or related fields.
- Technical training in Natural Resource Management, Forestry, Agro-forestry, or Cooperative Development.
- 2 years of experience in Natural Resource Management, Forestry, or Agro-forestry.
- Computer literate (MS Word and MS Excel).
- Good reporting skills.
- Knowledge of local language is advantageous.
