Role Summary
The Finance Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, effective financial planning, and strong internal controls. The role provides strategic financial guidance to management, supports business growth, improves profitability, and leads the finance team in achieving organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all financial operations of the company.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Develop, monitor, and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow plans.
- Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws, financial regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Manage statutory reporting requirements, audits, and relationships with external auditors.
- Monitor financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to management.
- Establish, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and financial policies.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury, and other finance functions.
- Analyze financial data and identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and profitability growth.
- Support business planning, investment analysis, and strategic decision-making processes.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records and reports.
- Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members to improve performance and professional growth.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent is an added advantage.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in finance and accounting.
- At least 3 years of experience in a managerial or leadership position.
- Experience in agribusiness, manufacturing, trading, or related industries is preferred.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial management practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
- Ability to develop financial strategies and provide business recommendations.
- Strong leadership, team management, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office applications.
