About the Job
Deborah Foundation, a registered non-profit organization established in 2019, is dedicated to improving the lives of children with Down Syndrome and other intellectual disabilities through health, education, and policy advocacy initiatives.
The IT Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the organization’s IT systems, networks, and equipment, while also supporting the development, maintenance, and performance of the organization’s website and digital platforms. The role plays a critical part in maintaining reliable day-to-day IT services and enhancing the organization’s digital presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Provide technical support to staff (both on-site and remote)
- Set up user accounts, email systems, and access permissions
- Maintain and monitor internet connectivity and local area network (LAN)
- Install and update operating systems, antivirus software, and essential applications
- Ensure regular and secure data backup procedures are implemented
- Maintain IT inventory and asset records accurately
- Support meeting room IT setup including projectors, screens, and video conferencing tools
- Ensure implementation of basic cybersecurity practices across all devices
- Coordinate with external IT service providers when required
- Perform routine system checks and preventive maintenance activities
- Assist in managing and resolving IT-related technical problems
- Support website development, updates, and maintenance activities
- Upload and update website content such as news, reports, and announcements
- Monitor website performance and ensure proper functionality
- Troubleshoot basic website issues and coordinate with developers or hosting providers
- Ensure website security, backups, and timely renewal of domain and hosting services
- Support improvements in website design, user experience, and functionality
Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Timely resolution of IT issues
- System uptime and reliability
- Proper maintenance of IT equipment and records
- Staff satisfaction with IT support services
Qualifications:
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Web Development, or related field
- Minimum 1 year of experience in IT support or technician role
- Basic knowledge of website development tools (e.g., WordPress or similar CMS, HTML/CSS is an advantage)
- Knowledge of computer hardware, networking, and common software applications
- Familiarity with Windows OS, Microsoft Office, antivirus systems, and email platforms
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (LAN, routers, switches, and internet setup)
