Job Overview

We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and records in accordance with established procedures. The Junior Accountant will also oversee the management and appropriate use of the company’s petty cash fund.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Create petty cash payment vouchers and ensure all supporting documents are attached.
• Organize and file approved cash payment requests along with their supporting paperwork.
• Compile cash count reports with all necessary details.
• Issue credit sales invoices based on verified supporting documents.
• Distribute credit sales and cash invoices, as well as payment requests, to clients.
• Prepare summaries of petty cash expenditures, attaching all relevant payment vouchers and receipts.
• Collect checks and transfer advices from both clients and banking institutions.
• Calculate and prepare withholding tax documentation for payments.
• Submit monthly tax filings to the Ministry of Revenue (MOR).
• Generate transaction reports for supplier accounts and reconcile them with supplier statements.
• Ensure all source documents are systematically filed and easily retrievable.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Training in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Peachtree or QuickBooks.
• Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles.
• Open to recent graduates.
