Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Customs Officer to manage import clearance, ensure regulatory compliance, and facilitate seamless cross-border logistics. This role is vital for maintaining timely shipments and adhering to international trade laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review customs documentation (permits, declarations, invoices, packing lists, etc.).
- Utilize customs software including ECMS Portal, Single Window, and VDD systems.
- Coordinate with international suppliers for vessel booking and documentation preparation.
- Track shipment status to ensure compliance and avoid demurrage or detention charges.
- Stay updated on changes in customs laws, tariffs, and trade regulations.
- Resolve documentation discrepancies, cargo delays, and valuation disputes.
- Maintain organized records and prepare regular reports on clearance activities and duty payments.
Requirements:
- BA in International Trade & Finance, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Experience: 0-1 years.
- Academic Performance: CGPA 3.5 and above.
- Strong understanding of INCOTERMS and international trade practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong negotiation skills.
