Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning Officer

Job Summary

Christian Aid is seeking to recruit a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Officer. This role involves:

• Contributing to the progress of the country programme towards its strategic goals.
• Providing support to project implementation, particularly for EU funded projects.
• Leading monitoring and impact evaluation to ensure learning is integrated into programme decision-making.
• Contributing to the development of Christian Aid policy and strategy.

Additionally, the role includes:

• Working with partner organizations to ensure the effectiveness of downward accountability mechanisms.
• Developing systems for documenting learnings and best practices.
• Organizing and sharing information with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualification

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate with skills and experience in:

• Managing partners’ performance and developing plans to improve performance.
• Providing capacity building support as needed.
• Assisting others in developing, implementing, and updating their monitoring and evaluation systems.
• Being pro-active, solutions-focused, and possessing strong interpersonal skills.
• Establishing good relationships with various stakeholders, including local NGOs, INGOs, government, and private sector.
• Managing projects and ensuring work quality and professional standards.
• Demonstrating experience with EU funded projects.

Candidates should be educated to at least degree level, preferably in:

• Developmental economics
• Statistics
• Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
• Project Management
• Other social sciences or development-related disciplines

Additionally, candidates should have:

• Different M & E tools and software experience.
• Documentation and report writing skills.
• Experience in developing and using performance monitoring and evaluation, especially outcome indicators.
• Experience in monitoring and evaluating projects for donors like the European Union.
• High levels of literacy in database and spreadsheet applications.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, including oral and written English.
• Experience working with international co-operating partners, especially non-governmental organizations.
