1. Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) in one of the following:
- Occupational Health & Safety Engineering
- Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
- Industrial or Construction Engineering
- Master’s Degree (preferred) in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Risk Management.
2. Experience
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of total construction safety experience.
- At least 3 years of direct experience in water supply infrastructure such as:
- Pipeline construction (trenching, welding, testing)
- Water treatment plants
- Pump stations and reservoirs
- Borehole and intake structures
Proven experience in:
- Risk assessment and Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis
- Implementation of HSE Management Systems
- Training and toolbox talk for workers and subcontractors
3. Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of:
- Excavation & trench safety
- Work-at-height and lifting operations
- Confined space safety
- Chemical handling and water treatment safety
- PPE standards and emergency procedures
4. Personal & Leadership Skills
- Excellent communication and reporting ability (English proficiency required)
- Ability to train and motivate workers
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong documentation and coordination with the Project Manager and the Engineer
