Job Summary
The Senior Accountant at Yoha International Pharmaceuticals PLC plays a key role in managing financial operations, maintaining compliance, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
This full-time position is based in Addis Ababa and requires a highly experienced professional with strong accounting knowledge, particularly in import and export operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
- Manage budgeting processes including forecasting, planning, and variance analysis.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Conduct financial risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure accurate recording of transactions in QuickBooks and other accounting systems.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits and implement recommendations.
- Develop financial reporting templates, dashboards, and management reports.
- Support business operations through financial planning and interdepartmental coordination.
- Train, guide, and mentor junior accounting staff.
- Monitor tax compliance and prepare necessary statutory documents.
- Support import and export accounting activities including cost tracking and documentation.
- Perform other related finance and accounting duties as assigned.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certifications are an advantage.
Experience
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
- Previous experience in import and export companies is required.
- Experience in pharmaceutical or manufacturing sector is an advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and accounting systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience in risk management and internal controls.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of tax compliance and statutory reporting.
