Job Summary
The Technical Sales Engineer supports Sales and Marketing activities by combining technical expertise with commercial strategies to promote company products within the assigned territory. The role involves providing technical support to customers, preparing technical and commercial proposals, maintaining strong client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities to grow market share and strengthen brand presence.
Key Responsibilities
- To integrate the knowledge and experience of a Technical Service Representative into the Sales and Marketing activities to promote products distributed by Jehoiachin Techno PLC in the assigned territory.
- Demonstration of leadership in providing and/or coordinating a complete spectrum of technical services to the customer
- Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals.
- Collaborate with colleagues to address problems relating to product quality and performance.
- Create a close customer relationship to promote the industrial products distributed by
Jehoiachin Techno PLC
- Develop broader commercial opportunities at both existing and new customers to ensure market share growth and overall brand awareness.
Qualifications & Requirements (Mandatory):
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 4 yrs of proven experience in technical sales, preferably in industrial mechanical or engineering products / Service roles.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems, industrial equipment, and components
- Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in English, with the ability to prepare letters, reports, proposals, and quotations independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Self-starter and highly motivated
- Valid driver’s license. (Optional but recommended).
- Ability to travel extensively within Ethiopia and abroad when required.
Preferred / Added Advantage Skills:
- Previous/current experience in an industrial product i.e., mechanical spare parts, power transmission products, bearings, seals, etc. Ø Machine Reliability – Condition Monitoring Ø Aligned with the industrial sales approach.
- Knowledge of the market and competition
- Experience in Distributor/Channel management
- Ethiopia market knowledge and experience
