Selection Process for Administrative Assistant
The Selection Committee of the Embassy of Brazil in Addis Ababa announces the opening of applications for a selection process to fill, on a permanent basis, one (1) vacancy for Administrative Assistant.
Qualification
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Minimum education required: completed secondary education
- Work experience in areas related to the administrative field
- Oral and written proficiency in Amharic
- Ability to express oneself orally and in writing in English
- Knowledge of Portuguese is desirable
- Knowledge of Windows 11 operating system and MS Office
- Communication and teamwork skills, flexibility, and willingness to learn
- Basic knowledge of mathematics
Responsibilities
The Administrative Assistant will perform administrative duties in various sectors of the Embassy of Brazil in Addis Ababa. Among the main responsibilities are:
- Providing support in carrying out administrative tasks
- Assisting in the issuance of visas, passports, and other travel documents
- Performing notarial acts and civil registry
- Assisting and providing support to Brazilians, including nationals in custody
- Organizing and monitoring meetings and events
- Drafting and translating texts in Amharic and English
- Liaising with nationals and foreigners
Work Regime and Remuneration
- The employment contract will establish a workload of forty-eight (48) hours per week and will be valid for one (1) year, renewable for equal periods at the discretion of the Embassy of Brazil in Addis Ababa and based on regular performance evaluation of the employee.
- The initial gross monthly salary is ETB 88,850.44 (eighty-eight thousand, eight hundred and fifty birr and forty-four cents), subject to deductions as determined by applicable local legislation.
- The Embassy of Brazil in Addis Ababa will be the employer of the Administrative Assistant, and the hiring will not create any link with the Brazilian Foreign Service.
- The employment relationship will be governed by Ethiopian labor law, with no application whatsoever of Brazilian labor legislation.
