Job Summary:
The System Admin Assistant will support the IT department in maintaining and managing the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role involves assisting in system administration tasks, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring system security and efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Assistant System Administrator:
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networks, and software applications.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.
- Support users with hardware and software inquiries, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement security measures and perform regular backups.
- Participate in system upgrades and migration projects.
- Assist in managing user accounts and permissions in Active Directory and other systems.
- Provide training and support to end-users on various IT tools and applications.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in system administration or IT support.
- Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with network protocols, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
