Job Description
The Assistant Underwriting Officer is responsible for supporting underwriting operations through risk assessment, document verification, policy processing, and customer service activities. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within insurance operational procedures and company guidelines.
Job Requirements
- Qualification: BA Degree in Management, Accounting, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of directly related experience in underwriting, insurance operations, risk assessment, customer service, or related business functions.
- Required Skills: Strong analytical and evaluation skills, good communication and interpersonal abilities, attention to detail, problem-solving capability, basic report preparation skills, customer handling ability, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in underwriting processes and risk assessment activities.
- Review, verify, and process customer applications and policy documents.
- Support policy issuance, endorsement, and renewal activities.
- Maintain accurate underwriting records and documentation.
- Communicate with clients, brokers, and internal departments regarding underwriting matters.
- Support evaluation of insurance risks in accordance with company guidelines and procedures.
- Assist in preparing underwriting reports and operational summaries.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and insurance regulations.
- Handle customer inquiries and provide professional support services.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
