Job Summary: The Finance and Administration Officer is responsible for ensuring sound financial management, efficient administrative operations, and supporting resource mobilization efforts. The role contributes to the effective implementation of programs by maintaining strong financial systems, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting smooth office management and coordination.

Job Requirement:

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4–5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in NGOs, donor-funded projects, or civil society organizations is required

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong financial and administrative management skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Peachtree) and MS Excel
  • Good command of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and accountability
  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and books of accounts
  • Process payments, manage petty cash, and ensure proper authorization procedures
  • Prepare periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual)
  • Support budgeting, monitoring, and variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements, ACSO regulations, and statutory obligations
  • Facilitate audits, bank reconciliations, and tax/pension settlements
  • Oversee daily office administration and maintain office systems
  • Manage office supplies, inventory, and asset records
  • Maintain proper filing systems (physical and digital)
  • Support meetings, workshops, and event coordination
  • Maintain HR records and support recruitment, onboarding, and staff management
  • Administer payroll and employee benefits in compliance with labor laws
  • Facilitate procurement processes and manage vendor relationships
  • Support fundraising initiatives, donor reporting, and program budgeting
  • Provide financial and logistical support for program implementation
  • Assist in internal coordination and represent the organization when required
