About the Job
The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, supporting budget monitoring, processing payments, conducting reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with organizational and donor requirements. The Finance Officer will report to the Senior Finance and Administration Manager and support the financial integrity of PATH’s Ethiopia Country Program.
Key Responsibilities
- Record all financial transactions in compliance with PATH and donor regulations.
- Monitor budgets and update project management on spending against project budgets.
- Assist in monthly payroll approval, monitor fund balances, and conduct bank account reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with USG and PATH policies and advise project staff on donor requirements.
- Prepare monthly aging analysis, financial projections, forecasts, and cash requests.
- Coordinate input for annual work plans and budgeting processes with the project team.
- Process and review payment vouchers, track advances, and ensure timely clearance.
- Respond to supplier and staff inquiries regarding financial issues.
- Carry out monthly bank reconciliations and post transactions in Business World.
- Support internal and external audits, including monitoring completion of corrective actions.
- Support property and asset management, including IT, equipment, transportation, and insurance.
- Assist procurement processes in Business World and ensure timely delivery with required specifications.
- Prepare project financial reports for management, donors, and relevant government stakeholders.
- Perform other duties in collaboration with the Senior Finance and Administration Manager.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or a business-related field.
- Experience: Experience developing, monitoring, and reporting on complex budgets, managing project funds, preparing bank reconciliations, financial statements, audits, and taxation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel), hands-on experience with Business World (multi-currency, payroll processing).
- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of applicable USG rules and regulations.
