Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable General Mechanic to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection activities for mechanical equipment and systems. The role is responsible for ensuring machinery and equipment operate efficiently, minimizing downtime, and maintaining workplace safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment and machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repair activities in a timely manner.
- Inspect equipment regularly to identify wear, damage, and potential failures.
- Install, adjust, and test mechanical components and systems.
- Maintain maintenance logs, service reports, and equipment records.
- Replace damaged or worn-out mechanical parts and components.
- Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and workshop resources.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Support equipment shutdown, startup, and operational readiness activities.
- Coordinate with supervisors and team members to complete assigned maintenance tasks.
- Assist in reducing equipment downtime and improving operational efficiency.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Educational Qualification:
- TVET Level IV/V or College Diploma in General Mechanic or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience for TVET Level IV holders.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience for TVET Level V holders.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance procedures, and repair techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical problems efficiently.
- Good understanding of workplace safety practices and standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and mechanical drawings.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet maintenance deadlines.
