Job Summary

The Hydraulic/Water Engineer will lead the design, supervision, and implementation of WASH infrastructure activities under the project.

Duty Station: Oromia Region

Employment Type: Full-Time (Project-Based)

Reports to: Project Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies.
• Design water supply systems and supervise construction works.
• Ensure quality control and adherence to engineering standards.
• Coordinate with contractors and local authorities.
• Prepare BOQs, technical reports, and progress updates.
• Support hygiene promotion integration within WASH activities.

Qualifications

• BSc in Hydraulic Engineering, Water Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in water supply projects.
• Experience in humanitarian WASH projects is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in remote and hardship environments.
• Good reporting and documentation skills.
• Commitment to humanitarian principles and safeguarding policies.
• Local language proficiency.
