Job Summary
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for a Junior Accountant. The Junior Accountant will handle day-to-day financial tasks, such as recording transactions, preparing financial reports, maintaining accounts, reconciling statements, and assisting in audits. The role also involves managing accurate data entry, monitoring financial compliance, and supporting month-end and year-end financial closings. The Junior Accountant will work closely with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in financial reporting, bookkeeping, and reconciling accounts
- Skills in accounting software use, data entry accuracy, and spreadsheet management
- Knowledge of financial regulations, tax compliance, and internal audit processes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented capabilities
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Amharic proficiency is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience in the media or communications sector is an advantage
