Job Summary:
As a Junior Asset Management Officer, you will be the guardian of our company's physical assets. Your responsibilities include managing our insurance portfolio, ensuring accurate stock control, and overseeing efficient warehouse operations. Your work will be crucial in mitigating risk, ensuring compliance, and driving operational efficiency across the organization.
Department: Sourcing and Logistics
Key Responsibilities:
- Insurance Portfolio Management: Manage and administer all company insurance policies (Property, Vehicle, Workmen’s Compensation, Agricultural, etc.).
- Insurance Claims: Ensure timely policy renewals, premium payments, and efficient processing of insurance claims.
- Negotiation: Liaise with insurance providers and brokers to negotiate favorable terms.
- Insurance Register: Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date insurance register for all insured assets.
- Asset & Stock Control: Oversee the company’s stock management software/ERP system, ensuring data integrity.
- Verification: Verify the accuracy of Goods Received Notes (GRNs) and physical stock records.
- Analysis: Analyze annual material consumption plans from business units to inform purchase planning.
- Stock Counts: Coordinate regular physical stock counts and lead reconciliation efforts.
- Fixed Asset Register: Assist in developing and maintaining the company’s Fixed Asset Register.
- Warehouse Oversight: Supervise warehouse operations to ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of inventory.
- Material Flow: Monitor the end-to-end flow of materials and maintain accurate documentation.
- Physical Visits: Conduct regular physical visits to warehouses to verify stock levels and compliance with procedures.
- Stock Reports: Prepare and present regular stock status reports to management, highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Risk Identification: Identify potential risks related to company assets and propose mitigation strategies.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
- Audit Contact: Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits related to assets and insurance.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- A professional certification in Insurance, Logistics, or Asset Management is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in asset management, insurance administration, and/or warehouse management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
- Familiarity with stock management or ERP software (e.g., Odoo, SAP, Oracle).
- Strong understanding of insurance principles and asset protection strategies.
- Proficiency in inventory control and warehouse management best practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate consumption data and support decision-making.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all record-keeping.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, accountable, and high-integrity work ethic.
