About Us
Kurmuk Gold Mine PLC (KGM) is a subsidiary of Allied Gold Corp, a company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, with mining operations in multiple countries including Ethiopia, Mali, and Côte d'Ivoire. KGM holds a Large-Scale Gold Mining License and three Exploration Licenses for its Ethiopian project. These licenses are in western Ethiopia, approximately 750 km from Addis Ababa and about 90 km northwest of Assosa, in the Benishangul-Gumuz Regional State. KGM is currently engaged in both mine development and exploration activities at the site.
Duties::
- Provide primary healthcare services, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for employees.
- Manage medical emergencies and ensure appropriate referral when required.
- Lead and supervise medical staff (nurses, health officers, and support staff).
- Promote occupational health and preventive medicine through awareness programs and health checks.
- Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Conduct medical determination for employees including pre-employment, periodic, and exit medicals.
- Maintain accurate medical records and prepare regular health reports.
- Support workplace injury management and coordinate with external hospitals if necessary.
- Always uphold patient confidentiality and professional ethics.
- Assure general compliance with standard infection prevention and control standards.

Qualification
- Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized university
- Valid medical license to practice in Ethiopia
- 3-5 years’ experience, preferably in occupational health or remote-site medicine
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills
- Experience in emergency care, occupational health, or industrial settings is a plus
