Job Summary
The Midwife Nurse is responsible for providing quality maternal and newborn healthcare services, including prenatal care, delivery assistance, postpartum support, health education, and counseling. The role ensures safe and effective midwifery services in accordance with professional standards and healthcare guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct prenatal assessments and monitor the health and development of pregnant women and fetuses.
- Provide health education, counseling, and support to pregnant women and their families.
- Assist with deliveries, including normal vaginal deliveries and management of complications within the scope of practice.
- Provide immediate postpartum care to mothers and newborns.
- Monitor maternal and newborn conditions and identify potential risks requiring further medical attention.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of care provided.
- Promote safe motherhood practices and support maternal and child health programs.
Duty Station
- Gambella Region – Nygunyyiel, Pinyudo, Jewi, Terkidi, and Luakdong Refugee Camps.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA) or College Diploma in Midwifery Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Active Certificate of Competence (COC) and valid professional license to practice in Ethiopia.
Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree holders: Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Diploma holders: Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.

- Ability to provide compassionate care and effective counseling to patients.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
