Role Summary
The Pharmaceutical Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling the company’s pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals, pharmacies, and hospitals. The role requires:
- Building strong customer relationships
- Identifying sales opportunities
- Ensuring the achievement of sales targets
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and detail Halicare’s pharmaceutical products to doctors, pharmacists, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with healthcare providers and key accounts by providing excellent after-sales service.
- Execute daily sales visits and maintain a structured call cycle in assigned territories.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends, and provide feedback to management.
- Organize product presentations, demonstrations, and promotional events such as conferences and group events for medical professionals.
- Research market assessment and analysis including competitors’ products, pricing, and market success.
- Schedule meetings with potential and existing customers, including doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Regularly attend industry events, training, company meetings, briefings, and educational workshops.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards in all promotional activities.
- Collect orders, promptly submit purchase orders to the relevant department, follow up on deliveries, and ensure timely payments from customers.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to implement strategies that drive business growth.
- Submit timely plans and reports on sales activities, customer feedback, and territory performance.
- Work with cross-functional teams to plan and execute sales and marketing activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Sales Achievement: Attainment of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Customer Coverage: Number of healthcare professionals and accounts visited per week/month.
- Territory Growth: Increase in market share and revenue within assigned territory.
- Customer Relationship Management: Strength and consistency of client relationships and satisfaction.
- Reporting Accuracy & Timeliness: Submission of sales reports, call logs, and competitor insights on schedule.
- Compliance: Adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical promotion practices.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
- More than 5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical sales or healthcare industry (preferred) with a proven sales record.
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology and legislation.
- Excellent organizational and consultative sales skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills with strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build rapport with healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid driver's license is an added advantage.
Reporting Line
Directly reports to Sales Supervisor. Works closely with Marketing, Distribution, and Customer Service teams.
