The Opportunity
This position is responsible for assessment, response analysis, design, and implementation of education sector activities under the ECHO-funded project. The Project Officer – Education in Emergency (EiE) will oversee effective implementation and monitoring of education project activities in Bullen Woreda and IDP sites within Bullen Woreda. Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring quality service delivery and promoting inclusive education for all children
- Supporting teachers and engaging communities
- Collaborating with local education authorities to implement program objectives
The Individual
- B.A. degree in Education, Community Development, or Social Science
- Minimum of 3 years of managing education programs (preferably in emergency contexts)
- Excellent knowledge of Education in Emergency (EiE) principles and Protective Education
- Understanding of child and adult development and learning
- Knowledge of donor grants and contract regulations
- Ability to deliver quality programs within timelines and work under stressful conditions
- Familiarity with humanitarian activities and international NGO operations is preferred
Safeguarding Children and Program Participants (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
- Understand and implement responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring concerns are reported and managed appropriately
- Ensure all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on safeguarding and GEI policies
- Embed Plan International’s global Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion policies into daily work
- Ensure Plan Ethiopia contributes to global efforts on safeguarding and GEI, including relevant reporting and data submission
