Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Protection Officer - Protection Case Management Supervisor for our operations in Mai-Tsebri.
Overall Purpose of the Role
Under the supervision of the Protection Manager, the Protection Officer – PCM Supervisor will:
- Oversee and implement general protection case management activities
- Supervise the implementation of activities carried out by PCM case workers
- Manage individual protection cases with technical support
- Develop and strengthen relationships with other agencies and local governance structures
Your Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement assigned general protection case management activities
- Support case workers during case identification, assessment, planning, intervention, and follow-up
- Lead case conferences, technical reviews, team meetings, training, and workshops
- Establish a standard integrated, safe, and conducive space for beneficiaries
- Report to the Protection Manager and collect reports from case management assistants
- Identify and respond to the needs of direct beneficiaries
- Assess outputs, outcomes, and impact of case management activities
- Represent DRC protection in various technical working meetings
- Facilitate case management activities in collaboration with field-based case workers
- Oversee implementation, monitoring, and tracking of work plans and budgets
- Conduct referrals of beneficiaries to different service providers
- Integrate case management activities with protection monitoring activities
- Maintain good relationships with stakeholders to collect information on protection concerns
- Monitor protection trends and recommend activities for DRC and other agencies
- Ensure ethical and statistically sound data collection and reporting procedures
- Analyze disaggregated protection-related data to inform programming
- Regularly monitor protection activities and provide feedback
- Assist in developing assessments and project reports
- Ensure DRC’s accountability commitments are mainstreamed into all activities
- Support the development of daily, weekly, and monthly reports
- Document all project activities, including means of verification and case studies
- Carry out additional protection activities as assigned
Reporting and Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain and regularly update the case management database
- Enter client data on the DRC Case Management IM system or Excel forms
- Procure necessary materials for case management in a timely manner
Qualification
- University degree in social work, social science, law, or other relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in PCM/CP/GBV case management supervision
- Experience in project locations is strongly preferred
- Experience in direct implementation of protection case management activities
- Proven record of community engagement and consultation
- Technical understanding of core protection concepts and ethical data collection
- Experience in identifying and responding to needs of vulnerable individuals
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Integrity and strong work ethic with the ability to meet deadlines
- Commitment to learning and implementing organizational policies
- Full proficiency in Microsoft Office; proficiency in Kobo and other tools desirable
Language
Excellent skills in speaking, reading, and writing English and Tigrigna.
