The Quality Assurance manager is responsible for ensuring product quality standards are maintained throughout the garment manufacturing process. The role focuses on defect prevention, quality improvement, and compliance with customer and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor quality standards across cutting, sewing, and finishing and printing processes
- Conduct in-line, end-line, and final quality inspections
- Identify quality issues and support corrective and preventive actions
- Monitor and reduce rework, alteration, and rejection rates
- Ensure compliance with buyer specifications and internal quality standards
- Support quality control during new style introduction
- Train supervisors, line leaders, and operators on quality requirements
- Prepare and submit regular quality performance reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Technology, Garment Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Quality-related certifications are an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably in quality assurance within garment or apparel manufacturing.
- Strong hands-on factory floor experience is required.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of garment construction and sewing operations
- In-line, end-line, and final inspection techniques
- Defect analysis and root cause identification
- Understanding of AQL and garment quality standards
- Basic computer skills, including Excel reporting
- Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Defect and rework reduction
- First-pass yield improvement
- Compliance with quality standards
- Reduction in customer complaints
Working Conditions
- Full-time, factory-based position requiring continuous presence on the production floor.
- Extended working hours may be required during peak production periods.
