Sr. Accountant

Job summary

The Senior General Accountant is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This role involves managing general ledger activities, month-end close processes, and supporting audits while mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing monthly/quarterly/annual statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
• Maintaining, reconciling, and ensuring accuracy of ledger entries.
• Leading closing processes, resolving discrepancies, and performing flux analysis (YoY/MoM) to guide decision-making.
• Upholding internal controls, assisting with audits, and ensuring adherence to tax regulations (corporate tax, VAT).
• Streamlining accounting workflows (e.g., automation, ERP enhancements) and mentoring junior staff.
• Partnering with AP, AR, FP&A teams and external stakeholders (auditors, banks).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/CMA preferred.
• 5+ years in full-cycle accounting, with 2+ years in a senior role.

Technical Competencies:

• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs).
• Expertise in GAAP/IFRS, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
