Senior Accountant

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant – Inventory is responsible for managing inventory accounting activities, ensuring accurate inventory valuation, financial reporting, reconciliation, and compliance with accounting standards. The role supports inventory control, analyzes inventory transactions, prepares financial reports, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve inventory management processes and strengthen internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory accounting records and ensure proper valuation of inventory.
• Monitor inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and write-offs.
• Prepare and reconcile inventory-related general ledger accounts on a regular basis.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory reconciliations and financial closing activities.
• Analyze inventory variances and investigate discrepancies to ensure data accuracy.
• Support physical inventory counts and cycle count activities.
• Prepare inventory-related financial reports and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, financial reporting standards, and internal controls.
• Utilize data analytics and visualization tools to monitor inventory performance and identify trends.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance inventory management, operational efficiency, and financial controls.
• Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, operations, and finance teams to ensure accurate inventory records.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and reports.
• Perform other accounting and finance duties assigned by management.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or another Business-related field from a recognized university.
• Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or ACA are advantageous.

Experience Required

• 3–4 years of post-qualification experience in finance, with specialization in financial accounting or inventory accounting.
