Job Summary
The primary purpose of the job is to make financial risk analysis and enhance proactive financial risk management by conducting appropriate financial risk related research and developing financial risk policies and procedures.
The job holder is responsible for making financial risk analysis and enhancing proactive financial risk management through conducting researches, developing policies and procedures, identifying significant changes in the quality of the loan portfolio, ensuring adherence to internal policies, monitoring underwriting quality, compliance with laws and regulations, and recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, analyze, and measure potential financial risks of the Bank.
- Prepare financial risk exposure reports, including liquidity risk, market risk, credit risk, portfolio risk and financing risks.
- Prepare monitoring, assessment, loan review, and ad-hoc reports.
- Review relevant research outputs on the bank’s processes, products and services from a financial risk perspective.
- Develop and/or upgrade the bank’s financial risk identification and assessment methodologies.
- Monitor, analyze and provide suggestions for mitigation of financial risks.
- Analyze regulatory developments and banking industry changes and their impact on the bank’s financial risk exposure.
- Promptly identify loans with actual and potential credit weaknesses.
- Recommend timely actions to strengthen credit quality and minimize losses.
- Identify trends affecting the quality of the loan portfolio and highlight potential problem areas.
- Assess adequacy of and adherence to internal credit policies and loan administration procedures.
- Monitor compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Participate in evaluating lending personnel activities and compliance with lending policies.
- Participate in reviewing loan approval quality, monitoring and risk assessment practices.
- Participate in conducting stress testing and scenario analysis.
- Participate in developing financial risk limits and monitor compliance with approved risk appetite.
- Participate in developing and reviewing financial risk management policies and procedures.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification
- Master’s or Bachelor Degree in Economics, Management, Accounting and Finance, Business Management or other related field of study.
Experience
- At least six (6) years of professional experience, preferably in the banking or financial services sector.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant banking experience in risk management, loan review, credit management, strategy, research, finance, treasury, compliance or branch operations.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of financial risk types including credit, market, liquidity and portfolio risk.
- Ability to analyze loan portfolios and identify potential problem areas.
- Proficiency in developing and reviewing risk management policies, procedures and risk limits.
- Experience in stress testing and scenario analysis.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and banking risk frameworks.
- Competence in preparing clear and insightful risk reports.
- Attention to detail and ability to identify early warning signals.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and core banking systems.
- Integrity, professionalism and ability to work independently under pressure.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on banking industry trends.
