Settlement And Reconciliation Officer

The Settlement & Reconciliation Officer will be responsible for managing daily transaction settlements and reconciliation for the payment gateway. This role ensures that merchants receive accurate and timely payments while maintaining compliance and addressing any discrepancies with partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily reconciliation of payment gateway transactions with financial institutions.
• Monitor settlement cycles and ensure funds are accurately credited to merchants.
• Investigate and resolve settlement mismatches and transaction discrepancies.
• Prepare and share daily, weekly, and monthly settlement & reconciliation reports.
• Collaborate with financial partners and merchants to resolve issues quickly.
• Ensure compliance with National Bank of Ethiopia regulations and internal policies.
• Support process automation for reconciliation to increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Provide accurate documentation and reports for audits and regulatory requirements.
• Track pending settlements, escalate delays, and ensure timely resolution.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Prior experience in settlement, reconciliation, or financial operations (fintech, banking, or payment gateway preferred).
• Strong knowledge of financial systems, digital payments, and transaction processes.
• Proficiency in Excel and reconciliation/reporting tools.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Good understanding of Ethiopian financial regulations.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle pressure.
