Job Summary
The Store Keeper is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation of materials and supplies within the store. The role ensures proper inventory control, accurate stock records, and efficient handling of construction materials while maintaining safety and organizational standards.
Qualifications
- College Diploma /10+3 in Purchasing and Supplies Management, Accounting, Management, Marketing Management, or related fields.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years and above relevant work experience.
- Experience in construction material store keeping is preferable.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials and supplies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and stock balances.
- Issue materials according to approved requests and procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or overstock situations.
- Ensure proper arrangement, labeling, and storage of materials.
- Conduct periodic stock counts and inventory reconciliation.
- Maintain proper documentation including bin cards, stock registers, and issue vouchers.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of construction materials and equipment.
- Coordinate with procurement and project teams regarding material requirements.
- Keep the store clean, organized, and secure at all times.
Required Skills
- Good inventory management and record-keeping skills.
- Basic knowledge of construction materials and store operations.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in stock handling.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
