Job Summary
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Program Manager who is responsible for driving strategic growth through effective resource mobilization, strong donor engagement, and high-impact program leadership. The role ensures the organization secures sustainable funding, builds meaningful partnerships, and delivers impactful programs aligned with its mission and long-term vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead fundraising and resource mobilization efforts to secure sustainable funding
- Build and manage strong relationships with donors, partners, and key stakeholders
- Identify funding opportunities and develop high-quality proposals, concept notes, and reports
- Represent the organization at national and international forums and engagements
- Provide strategic oversight of all programs to ensure impact, sustainability, and alignment
- Oversee programs including POP free surgical services, MCH, nutrition, WASH, women’s empowerment, cancer, and emergency response
- Drive program innovation, improvement, and expansion
- Mentor and lead teams, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture
- Strengthen staff capacity through coaching and development initiatives
- Ensure effective Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) systems are in place
- Use data and insights to inform strategic decisions and strengthen fundraising efforts
- Document lessons learned and best practices for continuous improvement
Qualifications
- We are seeking a strategic, highly networked, and persuasive female candidate with:
- Medical Doctor (MD) qualification (mandatory)
- Proven experience in fundraising, donor engagement, or resource mobilization (mandatory)
- Proven NGO experience (mandatory)
- Strong knowledge of donor landscapes in areas such as maternal and child health, women’s cancer (including cervical cancer), emergency response, pelvic organ prolapse interventions, WASH, and women’s empowerment
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and manage complex programs
- Excellent communication skills in English and Amharic, with the ability to effectively engage and influence donors and stakeholders
- Established network within the health, social development, or NGO sector
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and persuasive communication skills
