Job Purpose
Unilever is the place where you can bring your purpose to life as a Workshop Technician. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the engineering workshop to support the plants in:
- Fabrication of machine parts
- Repairs and maintenance
- Improvement & in-house cost reduction projects
Main Responsibilities
- Read engineering drawings and manufacture or fabricate parts accordingly.
- Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output.
- Apply precision & accuracy on parts.
- Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping.
- Plan the sequence of necessary actions for job completion.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and compliant workstation.
- Perform all work in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
- Familiarity with machine tool attachments for Lathe and milling machine.
- Maintain equipment through a preventive maintenance schedule.
- Maintain a professional level of organization with high attention to detail and quality.
- Extensive familiarity with CNC programs for Lathe and Milling machine.
- Clearly communicate with management, internal customers, and co-workers.
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs.
- Monitor and control progress of jobs to ensure timely completion.
- Inspect jobs in progress at key stages and prior to delivery; ensure findings are recorded.
What You Need to Succeed
Experiences & Qualifications
- National B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or National Diploma in General Mechanics, Industrial Mechanics.
- Arc or Tig Welding, Machine Shop, and manufacturing experience is highly appreciated.
- Previous machine shop experience as an operator.
- Experience working as part of an extended team within the manufacturing sector.
- Proven analytical and team-leading skills.
