Purchase Manager

Job Summary

The Purchase Manager will be responsible for:

• Developing, implementing, and overseeing the procurement strategy of the company.
• Ensuring timely sourcing of raw materials, spare parts, and consumables.
• Building and maintaining strong vendor relationships.
• Negotiating contracts and monitoring inventory levels.
• Supporting the company’s cost-reduction and efficiency goals.

Department: Procurement & Supply Chain

Reports To: General Manager / Managing Director

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with company goals.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers both locally and internationally.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to secure the best possible deals.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and finance teams to ensure timely procurement.
• Monitor inventory levels and establish re-order levels to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.
• Ensure all purchases comply with company policies and legal/quality requirements.
• Analyze market trends, product availability, and supplier performance for continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier agreements.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality.
• Manage import documentation and logistics for international purchases (if applicable).

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) are an added advantage.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and contract laws.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Experience Required

• Minimum 5–7 years of proven experience in procurement/purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing or trading industry.
• Experience in international sourcing, import/export documentation, and working with overseas suppliers is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated track record of achieving cost savings and building supplier networks.
