Job Summary
The Purchase Manager will be responsible for:
- Developing, implementing, and overseeing the procurement strategy of the company.
- Ensuring timely sourcing of raw materials, spare parts, and consumables.
- Building and maintaining strong vendor relationships.
- Negotiating contracts and monitoring inventory levels.
- Supporting the company’s cost-reduction and efficiency goals.

Reports To: General Manager / Managing Director
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with company goals.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers both locally and internationally.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to secure the best possible deals.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, and finance teams to ensure timely procurement.
- Monitor inventory levels and establish re-order levels to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.
- Ensure all purchases comply with company policies and legal/quality requirements.
- Analyze market trends, product availability, and supplier performance for continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier agreements.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality.
- Manage import documentation and logistics for international purchases (if applicable).
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) are an added advantage.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and contract laws.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Experience Required
- Minimum 5–7 years of proven experience in procurement/purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing or trading industry.
- Experience in international sourcing, import/export documentation, and working with overseas suppliers is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving cost savings and building supplier networks.
