Accountant

Job Summary

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage our financial records and ensure compliance with revenue office requirements. The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of proven accounting experience and must be familiar with reporting standards and processes involving the Revenue Office. Experience in building administration or property management is a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, examine, and analyze financial records, statements, and other reports
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations, particularly in relation to the Ethiopian Revenue Office
• Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
• Maintain general ledger and assist in preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements
• Ensure timely submission of tax reports and liaise with the Revenue Office for compliance matters
• Monitor and record fixed assets, receivables, and payables
• Support budget preparation and financial planning
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Provide financial insights to management

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in an accounting role
• Strong knowledge of balance sheet preparation and financial statement reporting
• Familiarity with Ethiopian Revenue Office processes, tax reporting, and compliance
• Experience in building administration or property management is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
