BTEC Electromechanical Solutions, a fast-growing engineering company delivering innovative HVAC, refrigeration, automation, and electromechanical systems across Ethiopia, is looking for a talented and passionate Backend Developer to join our dynamic tech and innovation team.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems for internal software and service platforms.
- Build APIs to connect web and mobile applications to core infrastructure.
- Integrate database systems and ensure secure data handling.
- Work closely with our engineers and business units to automate processes and improve client services.
- Participate in system architecture planning and contribute to software design decisions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience (2+ years) in backend development (Node.js, Python, Java, or similar).
- Experience with RESTful APIs, database systems (SQL/NoSQL), and Git workflows.
- Knowledge of server deployment, cloud platforms, and basic DevOps.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, ownership attitude, and attention to detail.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with IoT systems, embedded device integration, or automation.
- Knowledge of front-end frameworks (React, Angular).
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipeline.
