Job Summary

As a Chemist, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring that raw materials and in-process products, meet strict internal and regulatory quality standards. You’ll conduct physical and chemical tests across various raw materials. This position requires hands-on raw material testing experience, analytical rigor, and a keen eye for quality assurance across the production chain.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform daily physico-chemical testing of raw materials and intermediate byproducts) | Daily
  • Monitor organoleptic properties of raw materials and processed products, identifying deviations early | Daily/Ongoing
  • Prepare and calibrate laboratory equipment and ensure proper use of GLP and PPE standards | Daily
  • Manage stock usage and registration of reagents and chemicals | Daily
  • Investigate product recalls and customer complaints through laboratory analysis | Occasional
  • Flag abnormal test results and collaborate with production teams to take corrective actions | Daily
  • Engage in shift-based duties, support reagent preparation, and collaborate with lab colleagues | Rotational
  • Support continuous learning and adopt evolving technologies and practices in lab processes | Ongoing
  • Uphold safety standards and complete any additional duties assigned by supervisors | Daily

Job Requirements

  • Strong background in raw material analysis is essential, including sourcing consistency, sensory detection, and quality verification at intake.
  • Familiarity with GLP, quality control protocols, and use of laboratory instrumentation.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, shift-based production environment.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in applied chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in the food, beverage, or FMCG industry, Experience in malt processing or quality control is a plus.
