Position Summary:
The Draftsperson will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed shop drawings for bridges, culverts, and other structural components. The role requires collaboration with engineers and construction teams to support successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare structural shop drawings, particularly for bridges and culverts, based on design specifications and construction requirements.
- Revise and update drawings based on feedback from engineers and site conditions.
- Ensure all drawings comply with project standards and quality expectations.
- Coordinate with site engineers to verify measurements and resolve design issues.
- Maintain organized records of drawings and revisions.
- Support the design team in meeting project deadlines and milestones.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in drafting structural components.
- Demonstrated experience in producing bridge and culvert shop drawings.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and other design/drafting software.
- Strong understanding of engineering and construction terminology.
- Ability to work on-site for extended durations as required by project needs.
- Master’s degree (MSc) holders may be considered with less experience.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Proficiency in standard office software (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
- Strong teamwork and adaptability to changing site conditions.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
