About the job

The ideal candidate , the Electrical Engineer for Installation work is responsible for overseeing the installation of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and meet project specifications. This includes tasks like reviewing designs, managing installation processes, testing systems, and maintaining project documentation. They also play a crucial role in coordinating with other teams, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviewing Designs and Specifications:
• Analyzing electrical drawings, schematics, and project requirements to ensure accurate installation.
• Managing Installation Processes:
• Overseeing the installation of electrical systems, equipment, and components, ensuring adherence to plans and timelines.
• Ensuring Safety and Compliance:
• Enforcing safety regulations, electrical codes, and industry standards during installation and operation.
• Testing and Commissioning:
• Conducting tests on installed systems to verify functionality and performance, troubleshooting issues as needed.
• Coordinating with Teams:
• Collaborating with other engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
• Budget and Cost Management:
• Estimating costs, managing budgets, and tracking expenses related to electrical installation work.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintaining detailed records of installation activities, test results, and project progress.
• Providing Technical Support:
• Offering technical expertise and guidance to team members and stakeholders.
• Staying Updated:
• Keeping abreast of new technologies, industry trends, and safety regulations.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Electrical Engineering Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and power distribution.
• CAD and Engineering Software Proficiency: Ability to use computer-aided design and engineering software for design and analysis.
• Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to identify and resolve technical issues related to electrical systems.
• Project Management Skills: Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Communication and Collaboration Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.
• Safety Awareness: Thorough understanding of electrical safety regulations and procedures.
• Experience with Electrical Installation: Hands-on experience with the installation of various electrical systems and equipment.

Place of Work: Mainly in Addis Ababa but frequent visit to sites outside of Addis.
