CHAMPiON COMMUNICATIONS, publisher of Ethiopian Business Review (EBR), is seeking capable applicants for the position of News Editor for both media houses.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic News Management: Developing and implementing a comprehensive social media news strategy, creating a cohesive content calendar across all platforms. This will involve aligning with the overall news agenda while strategically tailoring content to each platform's unique audience.
- Dynamic Content Creation: Sourcing compelling news stories, crafting engaging captions, producing impactful visuals (images and videos), and adapting content to the specific format and style of each platform. This will require a keen understanding of social media best practices and audience engagement.
- Trend Analysis and Integration: Proactively monitoring social media trends and incorporating relevant news angles into our content strategy, ensuring Addis Maleda and EBR remain at the forefront of online conversation.
- Community Building and Engagement: Cultivating meaningful interactions with our followers through comments, live streams, and Q&A sessions across various platforms. The post holders will be the voice of Addis Maleda and EBR on social media, fostering a strong and engaged community.
- Performance Measurement and Optimisation: This role involves tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as reach, engagement, and audience demographics to optimise content strategy for both publications and maximise impact continuously. Data-driven decision-making will be essential to this role.
While strong IT capabilities, social media management skills, and an advanced language mastery of Amharic and English are mandatory, strong news judgment capacity and proven experience are also essential.
