MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop the strategic plan of the business unit that is in line with the overall strategy of the company.
- Develop a communication plan and provide strategic direction.
- Provide insights and business unit specific support to the corporate marketing unit in the development of marketing strategy.
- Develop a business plan covering sales, revenue, and expense controls, meeting agreed targets, and promoting the organization’s presence throughout the country.
- Lead the development of procurement strategy.
- Lead the development of customer acquisition and retention strategy.
- Provide input for the development of the supply chain strategy and develop distribution channel strategy.
- Establish an effective warehousing and inventory management system.
- Ensure the compliance of all operations with the Ethiopian regulations on the pharmaceutical industry and develop a code of conduct for the adherence of the regulations.
- Develop a system to address customer needs and solve their problems.
- Establish a system that enhances internal capacity and increases efficiency by fostering culture of sharing knowledge and continuous learning.
- Develop business unit’s strategic plan and objectives and lead in their implementation.
- Prepare business unit work plans and monitor their execution.
- Recruit, direct, organize and control sales personnel to accomplish specific objectives.
- Monitor the performance of the sales team by establishing a system of reports and communications involving sales reports and cyclical sales meetings.
- Plan and implement a specific appraisal system that describes the responsibilities and performance standards for each member of the sales team.
- Develop, approve and monitor sales budgets.
- Evaluate the periodic performance of his/her subordinates.
- Develop policies and procedures for the business unit and lead in their implementation and continuous review.
- Represent the Company in external relationships related with the business unit.
- Take part in the Company’s decision-making process by forming part of different committee(s).
Qualification
- Education: Master’s/BSC/BA Degree in Pharmaceutical and related field of studies
- Experience: eight (8) years of experience of which two (2) years should be at a managerial position for masters and ten (10) years of experience of which four (4) years should be at a managerial position for BSC degree.
Other Requirements:
- Professional license from Food, Medicine and Health Care Administration and Control Authority.
- Specialist experience in the pharmaceuticals industry/import and export sector is desirable.
