Project Officer

Job Description

The Project Officer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the community service projects of the School of Law, which include:

• Legal aid service provision
• Community outreach programs
• Access to justice-related research activities

Specific Responsibilities Include:

• Planning, implementation, and evaluation of legal aid projects
• Coordinating legal aid activities and outreach initiatives, organizing workshops, training sessions, and assisting in stakeholder engagement
• Coordinating with legal aid officers, legal teams, community representatives, and stakeholders to ensure project goals are achieved
• Ensuring project activities are carried out according to timelines and budgets, and in compliance with legal and organizational standards
• Monitoring project outcomes and developing strategies for improvement
• Facilitating regular meetings and updates with project team members and partners
• Facilitating the development of project materials such as brochures, pamphlets, and informational guides on legal services
• Maintaining project documentation, case files, and records of client interactions
• Scheduling internal project performance review meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes
• Helping develop and manage the Legal Aid Centre's website and social media accounts
• Contributing to the Center's online presence by creating engaging content
• Producing project activity reports

Employment Type

Contract: Initially for a period of 6 months starting from July 2025. Renewable subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

Educational Qualification and Experience

• Master’s Degree in Law
• Two years of work experience in donor-funded project implementation settings
