Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with a strong background in import and international trade accounting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, overseeing import-related accounting transactions, and ensuring compliance with tax and customs regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare periodic reports.
- Handle full-cycle accounting tasks including general ledger, A/P, A/R, and bank reconciliations.
- Manage import-related financial transactions including customs declarations, CIF calculations, and duty/tax accounting.
- Work closely with customs brokers, clearing agents, and logistics personnel.
- Ensure proper recording of foreign exchange transactions related to importation.
- Prepare and submit tax reports and financial statements as required.
- Support internal and external audits.
Required Qualifications:
- BA degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience, with specific experience in import accounting.
- Strong knowledge of customs documentation, CIF valuation, and Ethiopian import procedures.
- Familiarity with ERCA (Ethiopian Customs Commission) regulations and tax reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Peachtree/Sage, QuickBooks, ERP systems).
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a trading or manufacturing company with frequent import activity.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain finance.
