Country Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Enable and manage the achievement of service performance that exceeds customer expectations and differentiates DHL from competitors.
• Liaise with key and strategically important customers to ensure retention, development, and growth of new business.
• Create and maintain a favorable DHL image with influential audiences such as customers, business partners, and government bodies.
• Ensure that the annual business plan, including revenue and service levels, are met and corrective actions are taken for any negative variance.
• Determine local tactical plans aligned with regional and global strategy.
• Provide strong leadership to ensure strategies and goals are communicated and effectively implemented.
• Contribute to the regional direction, considering local environmental factors in strategy setting.
• Ensure revenue yield enhancement and market share growth through development.
• Actively monitor the market to maintain awareness of competitor strategies and actions.
• Continually review and improve business processes to enhance productivity and add value to DHL services.
• Ensure the financial well-being of the company from a legal and management perspective.
• Improve liquidity through effective capital and debtor management.
• Plan and implement corrective actions to enhance service and transit time performance while managing costs.
• Determine country organization structure, roles, responsibilities, and performance targets.
• Manage the allocation of resources and staff commitment to achieve objectives and targets.

Qualification

• University degree and relevant commercial/business qualifications.
• Significant experience in senior or general management in the express/logistics/aviation industry.
• Broad understanding of all functional aspects of the business and experience managing a complete Profit and Loss entity.
• High degree of business acumen and understanding of the external economic environment.
• Exceptional leader and motivator of people displaying DHL leadership attributes.
• Fluency in speaking and writing English is required.
