Summary
The modern Hyatt Regency Addis Ababa, located in the capital of Ethiopia, is looking for an Executive Chef. This role is part of the hotel's Executive Committee and aims to lead and strengthen our Culinary Team of 8 Expatriate Chefs and 131 local culinary experts.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure the efficient running of the division in line with Hyatt International's Corporate Strategies and brand standards, while meeting employee, guest, and owner expectations.
- Function as the Production Manager for the culinary division, ensuring all outlets and banquets operate successfully and profitably.
- Maximize employee productivity through multi-skilling, multi-tasking, and flexible scheduling to meet financial goals and guest expectations.
- Ensure all guest contact culinary employees deliver the brand promise and provide exceptional guest service at all times.
Qualifications
- Ideally possess a professional diploma in Food Production.
- Have a minimum of 4 years work experience as an Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef in a larger operation, within luxury international brands, across at least 4 countries or 2 continents.
- Hold a minimum of 20 years of work experience in the culinary department from the ground up, e.g., apprenticeship system.
- Exhibit good practical, operational, and team management skills with a flair for creativity and open guest service.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards.
- Have experience in running multi-ethnic culinary concepts, e.g., European Cuisine, Far Eastern Asian Cuisine.
- Demonstrate advanced computer skills in MS Office and Recipe Maintenance Systems.
